We appreciate all the interest in the park expressed in hundreds of email messages and phone calls. These messages expressed everything from offering encouragement to asking specific details about fees to frustration about when were we’re going to open. We regret not being able to respond to everyone individually and provide all the details requested.

Opening: What we can tell you is that we were overly optimistic about opening around the first of the year. As anyone who has worked with county agencies knows, the process is excruciatingly slow, and always takes more time than the most conservative estimate.

The best speculation we can offer today is to say that we are close, and that we hope to have a target date to announce within a month.

Permits: All permits have been received; we are ready to go in this aspect.

To do: There are a few outstanding items to be completed and approved before we open:

Build 12 foot sound wall, 350 feet long
Install curb & gutter on Holly Street
Pave entrance road
Finish installation of track lights

Misinformation: We’ve been aware of some rumors about the cause of our opening delay. The reality is we haven’t opened because we can’t until we satisfy the requirements above and working with the County to sign-off on each item completed has taken much longer than expected. Sorry, nothing juicy to report.

Again, thank-you for your interest and patience; we are as frustrated as you are by the delays. We are also as excited as you are for the park to open and to provide another great racing and riding venue in Southern California.
