On Saturday, March 1st, we put on a ride day at a private track in Palmdale. Our friend Dino has been putting in some serious hours on the new track. The turn out for the event couldn't have been better. With the track being on roughly 9 acres, the 30 riders that showed up to ride, had just the right amount of space. The day was filled with riding, picture taking, great food, and just friends being together to hang out. I would like to give a BIG thank you to Cory Weyer of Hotweyer Performance for donating the 20 pounds of carne asada for the lunch that was cooked. It very very nice of your company to help us out. Thank you to everyone that helped out with the event. It was greatly appreciated. We need to do this again soon.

Wayne Ashby (AKA: thariddla) has decided to team up with ProRide.com / Empire Race Team to raffle off his Brand New 2008 KTM 450 he recently won at the VetX Fall Series. Part of the proceeds will go toward Kevin Rookstool’s 2008 West Coast Lites SX Campaign.

The raffle will be $100.00/ticket and limited to a total of 100 raffle tickets. We will have the Bike on display at the ProRide.com / Empire Race Team pits at the Anaheim 1, 2, and 3 events, where you can purchase raffle tickets. Wayne will select the winning ticket at Anaheim 3 and give away the bike there. You don’t have to be present to win, but if you are not there you will be responsible for making arrangements to pick up the bike from Wayne at a later date.

Bailey, Johnson Duel Remembered 12/19/2007

Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, announced today that the second round of Anaheim (January 19) will serve as Throwback night dedicating the race as a retro salute to the legendary '80's racing that helped establish the beginning of a new era in supercross.

The Throwback night will feature a replica of the 1986 Anaheim track celebrating the epic battle between Honda riders David Bailey and Rick Johnson. In what is considered the greatest supercross race of all-time, Bailey went on to win the race and Johnson captured the championship that year.

Motorcycle racing was part of American culture long before most people reading this were born, including myself. Races such as the 421 mile San Diego to Phoenix held for a few years, was one of many epic races held in the days gone by. That race met its end when raids by Pancho Villa (other issues of the era as well) brought that to an end in 1915. The highly dangerous wood board racing era had already come and gone by the late 1920's.

Barona Oaks Raceway will now add Wednesdays to its schedule of open
Practice session for both tracks 1 and 2 for the month of June. 
June 6th Practice will be from 12:00 – 7:00
June 13th, 20th and 27th from 10:00 – 6:00.  
Practice $25.00 Spectators $2.00 per person. 

Make sure to check website for possible schedule changes.  

Also, please note that Saturday June 30th Track #1 will be Closed for Practice
